How Cody Craft Brewing Became Cody’s Award-Winning Brewery

Cody Craft Brewing is an award-winning craft brewery and taproom in Cody, Wyoming, built on more than 20 years of passion for great beer, community, and the spirit of the Big Horn Basin. What started as a long-held dream became reality in 2021 when Brian and Jen brought their love of craft beer home to Cody.

After serving in the military and building a life together in Texas and Colorado, Brian and Jen found themselves in Fort Collins — one of the country’s most respected craft beer cities. That experience reignited a dream that had followed Brian since growing up around great beer in northern Minnesota: to open a brewery of his own. While enjoying a pint at a favorite local brewery, they decided to make that dream real — and to do it in the place they love most: Cody, Wyoming.

Today, Cody Craft Brewing proudly serves as the Big Horn Basin’s premier craft brewery and taproom, producing some of the best beer in Wyoming, including multiple state-level award winners. Our beers have earned Best Hazy IPA in Wyoming (2023 & 2024) and Best Brown Ale in Wyoming (2025) — recognition that reflects both our brewing standards and our commitment to quality.

About the Beer

Every beer at Cody Craft Brewing is brewed onsite in our Cody taproom with one focus: quality without compromise. We use the freshest, highest-quality ingredients available and prioritize local sourcing whenever possible. Our beer is brewed right here in Cody — never shipped in from elsewhere and never passed off as something it’s not.

From our back-to-back Best Hazy IPA in Wyoming to our 2025 Best Brown Ale, our award-winning beers showcase what small-batch, locally brewed craft beer should be: bold, balanced, and built with care. We’re always experimenting with new styles, seasonal releases, and creative flavors, because great brewing is both science and art — and we take pride in doing both well.

1. How big of a brewing system do you have?

   Cody Craft Brewing has a 7BBL brewhouse, with room to grow! Our tanks are US made and come from Rocky Mountain Vessels out of Montrose, Colorado.

2. Will you make “xyz” beer?

   We’re continually evaluating what beers we brew and offer. We know there are a lot of great beers out there and we value the suggestions our patrons provide to us! So while you may not see a certain style of beer on tap today, it doesn’t mean it won’t be in the future. We’re always changing things up and trying out new recipes. Variety is the spice of life, right?

3. Do you have food?

   We’re brewers, not chefs, so we partnered with Wyo Dough to offer food service in our taproom! Be sure to check out their webpage for the menu!

4. Do you offer tours of your brewhouse?

   Absolutely! Give us a call to schedule a tour and we’d be happy to show you how we make the best beer you’ve had!

5. Where can I find your beer?

   In our taproom or at restaurants and bars around the Bighorn Basin! Check out the map above for locations to find our brews!

6. Do you have a full bar?

   No, Cody Craft Brewing only offers craft beer & hard seltzer brewed onsite here in our Cody, Wyoming location.

7. Is Cody Craft Brewing family friendly?

   Cody Craft Brewing is a family friendly taproom! We ask that children remain at the table with their family. For the safety of our staff and patrons, we ask that no one moves any tables in the taproom.

8. Are dogs allowed in the taproom?

   Service animals are permitted in our taproom.

9. Can I bring in my own alcoholic beverages?

   Alcohol purchased outside of our taproom is not allowed onsite.

10. Are you a sports bar?

    No, Cody Craft Brewing is not a sports bar. While we have TV’s and are happy to show the games, we offer a better experience, and higher quality product, than what you’d find in a sports bar.

11. Can I get beer to go?

    You bet! We offer 32oz Crowlers & fill Growlers. We’ve recently started canning and now you can get canned beer in our taproom!
